MEDI-SPA

What Makes a Medi-spa Different?

At the typical spa, skin care is one of the biggest parts of the business. This, however, is often limited to things like applying masques, facial massages, and similar services. A medi-spa, on the other hand, offers advanced procedures to make you look younger. These include Botox injections, lip injections, laser hair removal, and more. Such procedures are medical in nature, giving rise to the "med" part of the term medspa.

There are many skin care treatments that now fall under the umbrellas of medi-spas. Tattoo removal, skin resurfacing, microneedling, Coolsculpting, and more have made their way to these establishments. Of these, Coolsculpting is one of the most unique and promising. It uses cold to kill off fat cells without harming the lean ones. This makes it great for things like tightening up the chin line and other areas that tend to retain a layer of fat even when you eat an excellent diet.

One thing that makes a medi-spa different is that it doesn't do surgical procedures. Instead, it stops a bit shy of the knife. The laser is one of the strongest instruments used, and even these procedures are done in a careful and conservative way. This makes these establishments favorites of those who want bigger changes than can be made by cosmetics, but who also want to avoid the scalpel.

Of course, you can get the full complement of regular spa services at a medi-spa, as well. Manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, and more get you looking great in a hurry – with no need to commit to a look for months. These services also make you feel pampered and relaxed. Many clients get them just for those effects.

If you wonder which types of services are best for you, the first thing to consider is how long you want the effects to last. Topical cosmetic services, such as manicures, last between a day and a week or so. These are good for when you need to look great for a specific event, but you don't necessarily want to look that way all the time.

Advanced procedures, on the other hand, typically last for months. They also may require multiple sessions to provide the full results. These are good choices if you want to make changes that cosmetics can't do, such as giving your chin a tighter line, making your lips look fuller than lipstick could, or even eliminating the need to shave for a prolonged period of time.

One of the best things about these types of procedures is that while they are long-lasting, they aren't nearly as permanent as surgery. Therefore, if you decide you'd prefer a different look, changing it isn't too hard.
