CARE
Botox Aftercare
-
Make-up will be removed prior to botox injections.
-
Do not massage, rub or apply any pressure to the treated areas for the next 24-48 hours, you may gently apply skin care products and make-up to the treated areas.

On the first evening after treatment only splash your face clean, do not rub clean.
-
Avoid vigorous exercise for the next 24-48 hours.
-
Stay upright for the next 6 hours.
-
Do not have a massage or have any facial treatment for 24 hours.
-
Avoid excessive heat for the next 48 hours eg. Tanning, hot tubs, sauna.
-
For optimal results ensure that you attend your next appointment in 3 months.

Remember to discuss your 1-2 week follow-up appointment with your injector.
Dermal Filler Precare
-
Do not use any of the following 7 days before your treatment: NSAIDS (advil / naproxen), aspirin, omega-3, garlic.
-
If you are using any blood thinners (medication) discuss this with your injector before your procedure.

Do not consume alcohol the day before or on the day of your treatment.
-
Inform your injector before your treatment if you are prone to getting cold sores.
Dermal Filler Aftercare
-
Do not massage, rub or apply any pressure to the treated areas for the next 4-5 days.
-
Try to sleep only on your back 7-10 nights, a travel pillow can be very useful.
-
You may wash your skin and apply skin care products after your treatment – please do so gently for the next 2-3 days.
-
You may resume your normal daily activities following your treatment, but avoid vigorous exercise for the next 3-4 days and avoid running for the next 7-10 days.

Ice may be applied to the area immediately after treatment and will assist in reducing swelling. When applying ice to the area remember the 30 second rule: 30 seconds on 30 seconds off. Do not apply ice directly to the skin, instead use a paper towel or thin fabric to cover the ice to avoid ice burn.

Avoid extreme temperatures for 1 week after treatment (tanning, hot tubs, sauna) and make sure to cover your face with a scarf in temperatures below -10C.

You may use Tylenol or Advil for swelling or discomfort.

Arnica gel may also be used to minimize bruising – discuss use with your injector.
-
Remember to book a follow up appointment in 2 weeks.

Do not book any laser treatment in the area which you had filler treatment for the next 4 weeks.

Some patients may experience mild swelling or bruising especially after lip injections – this is normal, however do not hesitate to contact us if you have any concerns.
Laser Hair Removal Precare
-
Avoid tanning or excessive sun exposure 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your treatment.
-
Don’t wax, tweeze, bleach or use depilatory creams in the area to be treated for 4 weeks prior to treatment.
-
No topical Retinoids 4 weeks prior to treatment, no Accutane treatment for 6 months prior to laser treatment.
-
Please shave the treatment area 24hrs prior to treatment. There may be an additional charge if shaving needs to be done in the room.

Do not shave before your consultation.

Your technician will discuss your skin type and optimal number of treatment sessions with you at your consultation. Please note that for certain skin types a complimentary test patch may be required in order to plan for optimal results. Certain skin types are not ideal for laser hair removal.
Photofacial/Pixel / YAG Precare
-
No sun tanning or extensive sun exposure 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your treatment. We suggest that you use one of our medical grade sunscreens to protect your skin during this time and to ensure longer lasting radiant skin.

No Accutane in the past 6 months, no topical Retinoids for 4 weeks.
-
For enhanced results we suggest a vitamin A facial before your laser treatment – please ask your esthetician for more information.
YAG Laser Aftercare
-
Avoid the sun for 2 weeks after your treatment.
-
Avoid excessive heat (hot tubs/sauna/ baths) for up to 7 days after your treatment - discuss this with your esthetician.

Do not exercise excessively or shave the area for the next 3 days after your treatment.
-
After your treatment there may be a mild sunburn sensation that could last up to a few days, aloe or cold packs may be used for any discomfort.

Wear a medical grade sunscreen (highly recommended - ask us for suggestions).
